Uzma Baig, M.A., NCC, LSC

Resident in Counseling

Ms. Baig believes true growth begins with a powerful realization: the moment we acknowledge that our current path can be elevated and that something can be done better. This philosophy guided her own milestone career pivot from the fast-paced financial district of New York to the counseling landscape of Virginia. Driven by a passion for empowering families, she has also authored a book for mothers as part of a specialized parenting series.

Ms. Baig brings 16 years of experience in education, including 12 years as a school counselor, and holds a Master’s in Counseling from Virginia Tech. She specializes in guiding families through school-based social and emotional complexities, partnering with them to unlock a child’s strengths. She delivers practical, real-world tools that enhance focus, emotional regulation, and social confidence, drawing on deep experience in body safety and collaborative IEP/504 advocacy.

Her child-centered approach integrates CBT and Choice Theory with psychodynamic perspectives to foster self-advocacy and build lasting resilience.

We look forward to meeting your family.
