Family Compass is now offering teletherapy services to address the emotional, behavioral and developmental needs of children, adolescents and their families.
In addition, our team of highly experienced professionals can help families combat the compounding effects of social isolation, loss of routine, and family stress caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Teletherapy enables safe social distancing and consists of live, secure online videoconference sessions. Services include parental guidance sessions as well as direct therapy work with children and adolescents.
Our therapists work with parents to support emotional regulation, customizing their approach to the child’s and family’s unique needs, and develop behavioral supports. The goal is to increase emotional and behavioral regulation, alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression, and promote “family calm”.
Our therapists guide parents to support emotional regulation, engagement and communication skills, as well as develop behavioral interventions that promote positive development and “family calm”.
Tweens and adolescents typically benefit from their own teletherapy sessions without significant parental participation. For younger children, some parental participation in the session is helpful to achieve optimal outcomes.
